Neuromuscular  Massage

A trigger point is believed to be a localized spasm or knot in the muscle fiber that may cause pain to be referred to other, more distant parts of the body. I have seen clients who have been told they have arthritis of the elbow when the problem was actually the bicep muscle being so tight that the arm could not straighten and stress was being placed on the inside elbow joint, causing both pain and an inflammation.  Here is how a trigger point forms: Muscle overload causes an abnormal release of acetylcholine (from dysfunction in motor end plates). This release causes an influx of calcium into the sarcomeres in the affected area which, in turn, causes these sarcomeres to contract.

Myofascial Release

IASTM tools are used for myofascial massage . Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place fascia has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin .These tools scan over and detect areas of injured fibrotic tissue. it activates certain nerve fibers ,break down tight scar tissue that surrounds the muscle and prevents it from relaxing helping  you repair and strengthen muscles .The treatment may feel  temporarily uncomfortable as the fascia is released and separated. It can feel burny, itchy, stingy and prickly. However these sensations pass quickly and the benefits can be felt as soon as the area is released. , signs of redness, warmth, bruising, small red dots, and itchiness over the treated areas can be evidenced and are signs of good “controlled” inflammation.

Cupping

Cupping provides negative pressure and pulls up layers of soft tissue allowing fresh blood to flow and innervate muscles the marks left behind are a result of the blood being pulled into that area. The darker the mark, the more stagnant fluids (toxins, blood and lymph) were dredged up during treatment. The marks last anywhere from a few hours to several days. The more often you receive cupping for the same issue, the lighter the marks will be-  if you have an event coming up in the next week I suggest we not use the cups.

Hot Stone

Hot Stones help you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body it also increase lymphocytes  that improves  your immune system, increases blood flows for  better circulation &  joints flexibility. Heat sensitivity  is different to every body please let me know if the hot stones or towels exceed your comfort level.

Stretch

Therapy

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is a more advanced form of flexibility training. PNF involves both stretching and contracting (activation) of the muscle group being targeted in order to achieve maximum static flexibility.  Developed at the Kabat-Kaiser Institute from 1946 to 1951 by neurophysiologist Herman Kabat and physical therapist Margaret “Maggie” Knott, PNF was initially developed for people with neurological conditions such as poliomyelitis. Later on, PNF expanded to treating musculoskeletal conditions.

Reflexology

The theory behind reflexology is that areas of the body (Face, Hands & Feet) correspond to organs and systems of the body. Pressure applied to the reflexology points are believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding area of the body. Tools will be used for nerve stimulation & to  locate congestion, or tightness during the session, pressure will be applied to flood the neural pathways with relaxation bringing the body back into balance. Nerve endings lose sensitivity in parts of our body as we age (more so in the extremities). Reflexology has been associated with the stimulation of more than 7,000 different nerve endings during a 1-hour session, naturally increasing nerve functioning and reactivity.

Lymphatic

Massage

Lymph drainage massage has become a popular form of massage due to its potential health benefits. This specialized approach focuses on the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system. This type of massage aims to help the body maintain proper blood circulation, body fluid balance, and immune functions.

The lymphatic system contains vessels and nodes with lymph, a mixture of proteins, water, waste products, and immune system elements. Located throughout the body, lymph nodes filter all this debris.

The largest nodes are in the neck, groin, and armpits. They all work together to make sure "clean" lymph is transported back to the veins that carry blood toward the heart.

  • Depression.

  • Digestive problems.

  • Swollen lymph nodes.

How Athletes utilize LDM:

  • Athletes who are recovering from an operation for a sports injury

  • As a maintenance regimen between intense training periods to combat swelling and delayed onset muscle soreness

Signs You Need Lymphatic Drainage Massage:

  • Allergies and/or food sensitivities.

  • Bloating.

  • Brain fog.

  • Chronic lethargy (persistent tiredness)

  • Constipation.

  • Depression.

  • Digestive problems.

  • Swollen lymph nodes.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is thought of as both an art and a science. Humans have used aromatherapy for thousands of years.  Once Aromas are registered, scent travels faster to the brain than both sight or sound. Aromas can trigger emotional and even physical responses and allow vivid memory recall of people and places. Think of a time a smell has reminded you of something… Maybe your favourite place, a loved one or even a childhood memory. Aromatherapy has an array of benefits. It’s said to:
