Lymphatic Drainage For Breast Cancer Survivors
Based on my experience working with breast cancer survivors, pain , loss of range of motion and lymphedema are the most dreaded of the late side effects related to breast cancer treatment.
Manual lymphatic drainage after surgery can promote faster recovery, enhance comfort, address fibrosis and decrease post-surgical pain and swelling. Lymphatic drainage for breast cancer patients focuses on reducing lymphatic congestion by increasing the rate of lymphatic flow.
How soon after treatment & /or surgery can I start receiving MLD?
You can generally start treatments very soon after treatment/surgery, however you should obtain clearance from your surgeon.
Some clients also benefit from treatments before surgery to stimulate the lymphatic system, reduce inflammation, drain toxins, and increase immune function.
