Muscles play a crucial role in our daily movements and posture, but they can also be significant contributors to headaches, migraines, TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder, and jaw pain. Here’s a comprehensive guide to several key muscles, their locations, and how they can impact your body.  Releasing them in specific order is the key to pain relief.

  1. Buccinator: Refers pain locally around the cheek area.

  2. Digastric: Can refer pain to the jaw, ear, and throat.

  3. Frontalis: Pain may refer to the forehead and sometimes to the vertex of the skull.

  4. Infraspinatus: Commonly refers pain to the shoulder blade region and down the arm to the hand.

  5. Lateral Pterygoid: May refer pain to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), around the jaw, and to the temple area.

  6. Levator Scapulae: Pain often refers to the neck, shoulder blade, and sometimes down the arm.

  7. Masseter: Can refer pain to the jaw, teeth, and sometimes to the temple and around the ear.
